The same imagination that in a previous volume helped illuminate Vermeer's paintings, now is brought to bear on the poet's own life with equal success. A volume that will please by the freshness and real difference of its images and phrases. There is an undercurrent of feeling to the poems which, no matter how discreet and concrete their expression, gives them that crucial lived sense.
